Into the 20th Century it continued to serve as a main highway by its designation as U.S. Route 66; making Albuquerque the transportation hub of New Mexico and of the entire Southwest.

Hacienda Vargas is the only bed and breakfast Inn along the historic El Camino Real. Nestled in the Rio Grande Valley in the village of Algodones. It continues to greet travelers and pilgrims as it has since the 17th Century. Algodones was originally founded as a military garrison to provide protection for the merchant wagon trains traveling between Santa Fe and Chihuahua, Mexico.

The Bobcat Inn was originally an old hacienda that has been authentically renovated. It includes a beautiful courtyard, koi pond, and is adobe pueblo style. We are located 7 miles Southeast of Santa Fe, New Mexico in the foothills.

John and Amy Bobrick go out of their way to make your stay at The Bobcat Inn a very special and memorable event. John is a chef that has worked in many of Santa Fe's top restaurants. Amy was a caterer in Santa Fe for eleven years along with owning two restaurants. They bring these talents to your table. A full breakfast is served each morning and includes a gourmet entree, fresh fruit, pastries, cereal or granola, yogurt, coffee, tea and juice.

The Bobcat Inn is nestled on 10 acres of forested land with views of the mesa for miles and miles. In the summer we serve breakfast on our portal, weather permitting. We also serve a high tea in the summer on Saturdays by reservation.
